Family time is surely the best time ever!
Yesterday we took the girls out and had a great time. Its different living in a apartment complex. You have all off these different families clumped together in one area. You have to deal with different personalities and some of the times other people's crap.
The people out here are fairly quiet (besides the loud music at inconvenient times of the day). People keep to themselves and stay out of your business unless the cops are called, then everyone is in your business.
But besides that, we had a really great time with our girls. It was great to see them go up and down this huge slide and swing on the swings and play kick ball and just run around. It was a great time to take pictures. The weather was wonderful and bees were anywhere that there was a bush.
We had a great time and I can't wait to do it again.

Being there for the changes!
As I sit here and "write" this post, I look at my two girls and see how much they both have changed over the past year.
My two girls are amazing, and I'm not just saying that because they are mine. I'm saying that because of all the knowledge I see that they have and because of all of the growth that I see in them every day. When I look at them they amaze me and I can't believe that their father and I created them. When the music comes on and they start to dance, I can't believe that they have all this rhythm and passion.
I love every moment of it and definitely cherish it everyday!
As parents we want for our children to have the world. Regardless how much money you have or don't have, it doesn't matter. It's not about material things. What matters is you being there for your children, especially during the important times. Being there WILL give them the world.
Being there will allow you to see the changes!
You'll see when your youngest turns the light on in the bathroom all by herself for the first time and show you how proud she is for doing being able to do it (she's definitely a big girl now).
Or when you let your girls choose to either play with the iPod or iPhone and while playing, they switch back and forth to share, even though they're playing the same game. :)
Watching you're oldest play Dora games on the laptop and showing how she dressed Dora (her favorite, dressing Dora as an astronaut).
Or eating pretend ice cream or chicken or pizza when your little one walks up to you and says, "I made you something!", and pulls it from being her back.
Hearing/seeing your oldest wake up, look at the window and say, "Mama, it's morning! It's time to get up!"
All those moments are priceless and I love being there for them.
I love US being there for them! *BIG SMILE*
I know it's a cliche, but they do grow up fast, especially during their first year. But after that they'll continue to amaze you. Watching them grow definitely makes me think more and more about having another baby, but some days when their acting like maniacs, the thought goes away some. But you have to remember that they're just children.
I love my stinky booger eaters (they don't really eat boogers I just call them that) and they love me, their Mata!

Birthday party prep
So Kali's 3rd birthday party is Saturday the 14th.
I'm in the process of getting everything ready for her party. I still have to go by the stuff to make her decorations, I'm waiting on stuff in the mail that will hopefully be here tomorrow or the next day. I'm currently preparing the strips to make her birthday skirt. I still have to make both of their shirts. Sooooooo much to do. I still haven't decided how I want her cake to look, but it will be something Dora related. It will also be a cupcake cake!!!! :)
So much to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But it will get done!!!!
I'll upload a picture later of all of my chaos! haha

Oh yeah!!!!
Happy New Year!!!!
We all will have a great year!! Drama free and speaking your peace and not being afraid of anything or anyone.
We are in control of our destiny and no one can fulfill it for you, only you can do this. You will not be alone and will always have people that love you in your corner. Whether they are next to you or a million miles away.
Remember that each an every one of us is loved and thought about everyday.
As long as you are peaceful and logical you will always be welcome.
Change for the better is always good!!
You are special regardless what anyone says.
This is your year to shine and show how special you are.
Take care and be blessed everyone!!
You know where to find me.

I'm Crafty!! :)
Ok. So if you have seen the title, you probably
know where I'm going with this. Or maybe not!
So Kali has been potty training since about April of this year. I completely stopped diapers and we tried two different brands. Now by opinions on one brand over the other is not to make you buy that particular brand or not buy the other. I do not work for or am I paid by the brand I prefer.
The first brand is Huggies Pull-Ups. Everyone raves about these pull-ups, so hey why not try those first. So I did and I only bought one pack, well because they were cheaper than the second brand I bought at one point while Kali was running low on pull-ups. These pull-ups are thin. Not thick at all. You will definitely go through a couple of these in a day. One thing I learned early on is that you don't have to change the pull-up every time they use it. It's like a diaper without the tabs. But long story short, I don't care for that brand. If you want overnight protection you will have to buy a seperate pack for overnight protection.
Now the second brand was Pampers Easy-Ups. I love, love, love this brand. They have Dora the Explorer on the girls and Diego for the boys. Love it!! So since April I can honestly say that I've spent a few hundred dollars in pull-up alone. Maybe even more!! So last night, after I was looking for a deal on Kali's pull-ups, she's running low. I decided that I wasn't buying any more. I'm tired of spending all this money on something that is going to be thrown away. So I went to my trusty search engine: Google.
I searched "homemade pull-ups." Yes you read that right and I came across this site.
So since I'm crafty I decided to make my own. That's right, I can sew!!!! I made my Kali some training pants.
Here is a little tutorial:
Materials need:
Sewing Machine (or needle and thread)
Toddler underwear
Cloth diapers or absorbent material
Scissors
Stick pins
Directions:
Locate the crotch of the underwear. You'll notice that the crotch is lined. There is a top fabric and a bottom fabric. Pull apart the fabric and cut along the top and bottom seams.
(Sorry its to the side) |
Crotch |
Crotch cut at the seams |
Cloth Diaper |
Cut the cloth diaper in the shape of the crotch.
Sew around the edges so they won't fray or come a lose.

Insert into the crotch of the under.
Sewn crotch |
Be sure to sew the crotch together using a zig-zag stitch.
Finished product |
Hope you like it.
